Smoking Policy

Where can I Smoke at Tortuga?

Smoking at the event is allowed only in your vehicles, personal camping areas and designated smoking areas on site. Smoking is not allowed in any common area or while walking through site. We ask that anyone who smokes to properly dispose of their cigarette butts and any other litter into proper disposal bins.

Why do we restrict smoking?

We rent a public park for our event and must follow the laws governing that park.  We also believe in respecting the space of others which includes allowing them to consent to being exposed to second hand smoke.

Does this restriction apply to things like e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco and marijuana?

This restriction applies to any smoking products.  Marijuana laws restrict its use in view of the public, so it cannot be used in any public area.

What will happen if I violate the smoking policy?

We want to make sure that everyone is aware of the rules, so we will be asking for voluntary compliance and will remind those who are unaware or forget.  If someone repeatedly forgets or is disrespectful to other patrons in anyway, they may be asked to leave the event.
